Meet Michelle, Founder and Artistic Director

Michelle Pudwill-Shiels’ passion for the performing arts shines through her over 25 years of experience both on and off the stage. Originally from South Dakota, Michelle has called Virginia home since 2001.

As founder and artistic director of TADA School of Performing Arts in Suffolk, Virginia, Michelle has directed and produced numerous children’s theatre productions. Some highlights include Frozen, Hairspray, The Little Mermaid, Annie, Seussical, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Junie B Jones. Michelle especially enjoyed portraying the role of Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray.

In addition to directing, Michelle offers private lessons in piano, acting, and voice from her home studio. Her motivation for starting TADA stemmed from a desire to spark children’s creativity and watch their transformation on stage.

A Legacy of Passion and Excellence
